Is GATE tougher than JEE?

Me: 'Everyone agrees JEE is tough. It’s impressive to have such a deep understanding at a young age. But let me ask you, which do you think is tougher, getting into Google/Facebook or IIT?'

Sister: 'What parameters? (Dodged the question)'

Sister: 'No way, it’s not even relevant to compare them.'

Should parents be allowed to bring children into R-rated movies? What are the potential consequences of doing so?

Sister: 'Nothing. But what’s wrong with admitting JEE is the toughest exam?'

Sister: 'Obviously, a statement.'

She stared at me for about 10-15 seconds, then went back to watching the video.

What legal actions can be taken if a neighbor's unleashed dog causes harm or injury?

Sister (showing me a video): 'Then why is this guy talking nonsense? Everyone knows JEE is tougher.'

Me: 'Yes, it is,' I agreed.

Me: 'Now, if Google had a common exam to recruit, which would be tougher: JEE or the Google exam?'

Sister: 'Hmm, yes. The same goes for entrepreneurship or starting a business, right? They’re also tough if you want to succeed.'

Sister: 'Okay, but...'

Cricket isn’t the only tough game; the Olympics, Para Olympics, Tennis, Golf, etc., are equally tough. It might just be over-hyped.'

Me: 'Exactly! What's the point of comparing different exams? What are you trying to say?'

Why do guys on dating apps often just first message "hey" or "hey how are you" instead of being more creative and unique? How do they think being a copycat will stand out?

Me: 'So that means it's the toughest exam?'

Sister: 'Really? Huh! Do you know how tough it is to give exams for nearly a month? And if you don’t get over 95%, you won’t get into a good college.'

Me: 'Exactly! The same applies to Gate. When people say Gate is tough, they usually mean it’s tough for PSUs. Gate questions might be easier, but the competition is fierce due to limited seats.'

Me: 'I mean, are you comparing the failure rates, syllabus, depth of understanding, question difficulty, or the range of topics covered?'

Why do I have the impression that almost all questions about advertising the flat Earth theory come from people who don't believe in a flat Earth themselves and are just provoking?

Me: 'Okay, but why are you so obsessed with comparing these exams? What are you comparing them on?'

Sister: 'How can you compare? They serve different purposes and happen at different stages.'

How is it, in the USA, a country with 334 million people, the choice of President comes down to two aged men, one of whom is a liar as well as a criminal, one who appears to be on his way to dementia. Surely a democratic country can put up better?

Me: 'Look, if you want to get into the best DU colleges, the board exam is the toughest. If you want IIT, then JEE is the toughest. If you aim for IAS/IPS, CSE is the toughest. For PSUs or IITs for Masters, Gate is the toughest. For foreign universities, GRE/GMAT is the toughest. For AIIMS, it’s the toughest. For becoming a CA, that’s the toughest for you. Want to join the Indian Forces? NDA/CDS is the toughest. The same goes for SSC-CGL/CHSL/IBPS exams.

Me: 'Board exams are easy.'
